Turbopack is a new bundler for web development aiming to solve Developer Experience (DX) issues we were facing with the existing stack of web development tools. Especially focusing on development of large applications.
In this talk Tobias will tell you about the story and motivation behind the creation of Turbopack. He will look into a few DX issues we were facing with webpack in Next.js and how Turbopack is trying to solve them by choosing different techniques, trade-offs or architecture.
The talk will also address new challenges we are facing due to building a web development tool in Rust, and new ideas for improving web development in future (with Turbopack).
